I have been using a small, vertical Brinkmann smoker for 20 years and I liked what I made with it, but I didn't like the design. It was hard to get wood in it if you had food in it, it didn't hold heat well, it didn't hold much food, and it was flimsy. I have 2 growing boys to cook for and I needed to step up to a smoker that could handle more food. I really wanted an offset smoker box and plenty of room for food, while keeping the vertical design.
This is the only smoker I could find that met my needs.
I was hoping it was American made, but like all things manufactured these days, it was made in China. That being said, it was made well. The total weight of this smoker is over 70lb, and it stands over four feet tall. It is solidly built and extremely easy to put together. The racks are easy to move around to accommodate various sizes and shapes of foods and the fire box holds quite a bit of wood.
The temperature is very easy to control with the vents on either side of the smoker and the built in thermometer is more specific than the Brinkmann. I can keep my food at an exact temperature very easily, not just "ideal".
So far I have smoked ribs, chickens and pork shoulders with far better results than with my smaller vertical smoker.
I highly recommend this smoker to anyone from a novice to a seasoned (pun intended) pit master.

I don't know about the two bad reviews, but I am in love with this little budget smoker (and so is my family). The six racks allowed me to cook 20 lbs of ribs with ease one day, and while the cook box isn't super wide or deep, I fit a 12lb brisket for one meal, and 10 lbs of pork belly with 10 lbs of pork butt below.Once I got the temp up to 225, it was easy to keep it maintained. I do wish the smoke box could hold more, but for the cost it is really hard to complain.

If you make a few mods to it, it's great. I needed another smoker because my bullet smoker was a gift from my wife's dad before he passed, which is where I actually started my smoking habit from. Used that for a couple years, but I hated how hard it was to get to the fire and the second rack, and making food for large groups of people was a pain.So I got into the market for a larger one, and I came across that Dyna-Glo on Amazon for $200, unfortunately it had just been released about a week before so there were no comments/reviews. I took a chance figuring I modded my bullet smoker so I could do the same to that.
It was exactly what I wanted size wise, as I can smoke tons of food on it and even hang sausage if I want to. I could do about 10 whole chickens on it if needed, but I'll doubt I'll ever need do to that much (and I still have the bullet smoker for anything extra). But best of all was the firebox, it's so much easier now dealing with the fire. I really wanted to get a drum smoker but I couldn't find any decent one's (even used) that weren't 4-500 bucks.
Probably the worst part of the smoker is the metal is pretty thin. However, I live in Florida where I really don't have to worry much about the cold, so thin metal doesn't mean as much. I am able to get it up to 250 degrees and hold it there no problem, and I know if I wanted to go up to 300 I could as well (but I rarely smoke above 250). I also did quite a few mods, I put a baffle between the fire box and the food area which helps distribute the heat/smoke better and also sealed it with fireplace sealant because there are a few areas it leaked smoke. Also ended up getting some firebricks which could help with long time smokes but I need to try it out again because the first time they seemed to really give me an issue with heating it up to temp but it was only my second smoke with it and I didn't have enough charcoal in it.
With all the mods, I think it's perfect for my needs and my budget. One day maybe I'll get a drum smoker, but my wife is going to kill me if I end up with 3 smokers! I plan on doing the ultimate test in it soon, a brisket, so we'll see how it goes when I do a long 12 hour burn in it. So far though it has smoked perfectly and I can't complain for $200 shipped.
P.S. Not sure how anyone is saying this thing can't take more than one chimney of charcoal, I routinely put at least 2 chimneys worth without an issue.
