This thing works great! You stick it in something hot, the needle points at the bigger numbers, this thing is freakin' fantastic. I bought it instead of the Lyman lead thermometer at half the price. Upon closer inspection, I believe that the Tel-Tru thermometer is the same as the Lyman but without the Lyman name on it.

The stem is too long that when I used it with my large rib rack that holds four, it bent. The minimum temperature is 200F which is too high for smoking fish.
