I have never written a review this harsh on such a poor product. This unit is completely worthless. Let's start with the as-received product:

--Missing top lid hinge part (can't attach lid to base)

--Missing burner tube attach screw (gasket loose, fire hazard)

--Broken side handle (right side)

--Cracked side handle (left side)

--Improper-fit/shape/size thermal meter (square instead of round)

--Legs don't fit base without bending

--Leg quick-releases don't work

--Leg hinges mis-drilled, incorrectly fabricated, bent/crooked

--Leg rubber bumpers fold over and fall out

Now for functionality (I did not use the grill, but I have a lot of grilling experience, so I can see how it would work out):

--Burner heat spreader too close to grill

--Spindly coated grill will warp, chip, be very hard to clean

--No drip/catch area/pan capability all the debris would just end up in the flat bottom of the base, which has 20 or so up-curled holes in it (presumably to contain the dripping). Cleaning would be a nightmare.

Since I did not use the grill (couldn't finish assembling it due to all the above problems), I can't comment on how evenly or hot it heats. I did notice that the burner tube has no intake-air adjustment or screen, and hangs out in the outside air space. This could make for uneven burning/heating but that's just a guess.

Overall, what a TERRIBLE product. I buy a LOT of stuff from Amazon. This is the only time I ever wished they had a zero-star rating.

I bought this grille because I was using a Uniflame Gold portable grille I had bought at Walmart about four years ago until the other day when I backed over it while riding my ATV. The one I owned was completely stainless and had a few faults, the lid would not stay latched and the temp guage was way off, but it served me well over the years. I tried to find an exact replacement but it appears that model was discontinued. So I bought this one and was immediatly disappointed when I opened the package. During assembly, which is not really difficult, I noted that the build quality pretty much sucks. The legs are too wide to mount without twisting which then does no allow them to lock in place as the pin no longer lines up with the holes. It is also not stainless steel, except for the top cover, unlike my last one which was. The latches for the top also seem pretty worthless and I am sure they will not hold the thing together. It will probably work just fine, but the next time I buy I will be looking at something for twice the price and expecting a bit more for my money.

I was reluctant to order this item after reading one of the reviews about how bad an experience they had. But I needed one this size with these features and I ordered it and put it together with no problems whatever. Admittedly, it was a time-consuming effort, but the directions are fairly simple to follow and it turned out well. I haven't used it yet so cannot comment about its functioning, but we have had its predecessor for several years now and have been very happy with it. As usual, I have been very pleased with Amazon as well.

Love my little grill! It actually has a good size grill on it which is one of the reasons I bought this one. I didn't find it tricky to put together at all. The burner was missing the screw hole, but the company immediately sent me another one out at no charge. Great customer service! I took the upper warmer off, because it was in the way. I rarely use them anyway. The cover did discolor due to high heat. I cook my steaks on high for the first couple minutes, so the lid has discoloration, but I didn't buy the thing for looks. Worked great for Girl Scouts to roast marshmallows on too. I bought the big propane tank adapter so we don't have to use the little tanks. We haven't used our big grill at home since we bought this last summer. I, too, line it with foil for easy clean up. Very happy with it

bought 6 of these to use for boy scout pack, so they are taking a far amount of abuse. legs are a little flimsy. grill gets hotter then you will ever need.
