Was able to get this to work with my DCS grill (27 series I think). I bought a new ignitor button at a local big box store and rigged the thing together with minimal issues. If it lasts for a couple years I would be more than happy. The electrode is very close to the flames (obviously) so it will be interesting to see how long it takes before it wears and corrodes away.

The igniter works well, but it needed modifications to fit.

Recently, I have decided to overhaul rather than to replace an old neglected 27" DCS BQR two burner grill with rotisserie infrared burner. It is amazing what Barkeeper's Friend powder can do to stainless steel. The outside of the grill looked like new after I was done with it. However, fixing the insides proved to be quite a bit more difficult. I had to ask my cousin who is a welder to make a new back support for burners. I cleaned all burner holes with a drill, and a few hours and about 15 drill bits later, everything was looking nice and working well, except for the burnt and broken piezo igniters. Initially, I was thinking about removing them and just using a long lighter to light the grill, but then I decided that I'd at least attempt replacing them. I am happy I did.

Amazon's price was the best and the delivery was quick. It is the same part every other grill parts store sells, so it is not like there were many choices for the igniter itself. The factors affecting my decision were the price and the delivery speed. I tried to buy a piezo igniter from Home Depot or OSH, but the generic ones they sell were too short and would not reach to the first burner hole. This part is as close to the original as you can get.

There were two problems I encountered during the installation:

1. This part has a mounting screw hole and a tab, but the original part was attached with two screws. When I put a screw through the right mounting hole on the grill and through the mounting hole of the igniter's bracket, the tab did not fit into the left mounting hole as I was expecting. Instead, the gap next to the tab aligned with the hole. I bent the tab down and used a #10 machine screw through the gap and it caught on pretty tight.

2. This ignitor's collector box is open on the left side and there is no part with the opening on the right. My grill's burners' igniters are located on the left of the left burner and on the right of the right one. therefore, I had to saw off the tab that encloses the collector box on the left igniter. This was not anything I wanted to do, because I would much rather just purchase the correct part for the application.

Additionally, I noticed that the original igniters' wires were insulated with fabric, but these igniters' wires are red plastic. I hope the insulation does not melt or crack from the heat.

Despite the two issues, I am very happy with the igniters. Both burners light up with one or two presses of the push button.

I purchased 6 of these to replace my worn DCS igniters. 5 of the six work ok, the 6th has failed. I am very qualified on installation and have no problems with the wiring burners etc. all have been replaced. The one unit simply does not spark.

I don't know if Amazon or Music City Metals will replace it if I send it back
