I have another Dimples which is ten years old. It is better. This one has no back light for the controls and no place to store supplies. The LED light became fried on the second useage.

I was looking for the BEST possible electric grill I could find for use at a condo, and here's my two cents on the Dimplex PowerChef 120-DLX Deluxe Tuxedo model:

The "Program Mode" works perfectly every time. It tells you exactly how long it will take to cook whatever you're grilling. It tells you when to flip your burgers (both audibly and visually), so you can make them rare, medium rare, medium well, etc. The "grate" heats-up, so you will see perfect grill lines on scallops, chicken breast, kobe burgers, etc. I have not used the "Manual" mode much, but that merely allows you to decide (on your own) how long you want to grill whatever you're cooking. The negative: I wish the grilling space was larger, and I wish the grilling area was broken-up into two cooking zones. This way, you could cook two diffent types of food at the same time with different cooking times. The LED light is no big deal, and there is no storage space for grilling supplies. All in all, this computerized electric grill works perfectly every time, and is a great option for those who require an electric grill.

After 18 months of minimal use, the element failed and trips the ground fault breaker. I tried to contact the manufacturer. The waiting time on the help line was 20 minutes. They suggested i contact them through the web site, which they said was the fastest way to get a response. After a week I have still had no reply.

Grill is of solid quality and is easy to use. Sadly, it doesn't get as hot as my previous 110V unit. I can't use a 220V unit in my current location, but others may wish to consider those if you desire a cooking surface as hot as a gas grill and have access to 220V.

This has been far better than I expected, you can set this and forget it, all my Steaks and Chops have come off the grill, perfect. I would recommend this one to anyone.
