I thought this would solve all my problems. The traditional brushes seem to "waste" a lot of their surface area in that the bristles on the leading edge get squashed down pretty quickly and you end up using the wood (or in some cases) plastic to smear things around. This looked like it would not have that problem. But the bristle density leaves a lot to be desired and they tend to get squashed very easily. I don't think this is any better, or in fairness, any worse than the traditional design. I do find that I miss the metal scraper part that is found on traditional brushes, especially if it has the little cut out on the side to scrape each individual "rung" of the grate. So I'll keep using this until it doesn't work but I doubt I'll get another after that.

This is a great product at a very low price! The Weber 6424 21" T-Brush cleans my Q-300 grill effortlessly and thoroughly with just a few swipes and without damaging any of the porcelain slates or leaving behind any metal residue. The 21" handle allow the griller to clean from a distance and yet is short enough for easy maneuverability all over this grill. Literally, the grates are spotless after every cleaning with this brush and at the Amazon price, an unbelievable purchase. I have used this brush consistently for the past 3 months and it looks like new.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Weber 6424 21-Inch T-Brush
So you probably read that your porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grates need a brass brush to avoid damaging the enamel. Well I emailed Weber because they no longer sell the brass version and they said that their stainless steel brush will not scratch the enamel either. This brush is really nice for getting in between the grates with minimal leverage force needed to scrape off the charred bits. Just be sure to buy this one if you have a Weber grill so you avoid any nightmare scenario of a 3rd party brush ruining your cooking grates.
