So first I have to get this out there: UPS shipping beat the heck out of this during shipping and I will ignore that for the review of the product but I had to bend a few things back into place and still can't get ash tray to go in all the way on one side.
The grill looks amazing and works really well. At first I was concerned about the size of the charcoal baskets (small) compared to the grilling area, then I realised that this is actually a bonus. You have an area where there is no direct heat which is greatly helpful when cooking tbones to an even temperature and for moving food to when you get flare ups. The doors on the front seem more for looks, but maybe someday I would need access to a blazing hot part of the grill to do.... Well burn the heck out of my hands is the only thing I can think of. Overall very good quality and easy to put together, 2 people is a huge + and expect 1 hour with unboxing and assembly. I wasn't home when ups delivered this but make sure you are and inspect package before accepting it. And box weighs in at 130 lbs just saying, have a buddy help carry it to the garage!

I read a lot of reviews on Amazon before purchasing items, so I thought I should write one here to start paying back. I am surprised that there are some good reviews on this Bbq , I guess some people use a BBQ different than I do.
The BBQ is heavy (a good thing) but the way it is boxed you have to cut the box up to get it out...so there goes shipping it back easy. It went together easy enough with some tricks needed....it is made in China....wrong parts on shelf brackets I was able to make them work but still wrong....broken knob......smoke stack had a missing piece. But got it all together still happy figured that I would call for replacement parts in the morning....but for now I was going to start using the BBQ. As soon as I closed the lid the heat (smoke ) started coming out of the back staining the stainless steel bad about half way up the back...when the lid is closed there is a 1/4 inch gap in the back...you can see the grill top when standing in the rear of the bbq.
The heat in the bbq stays the same no matter if the dampers are all the way open or closed , no matter it the smoke stack is open or closed...it goes up to 400 degrees and stays there....I figure that a bbq with a smoke stack, two dampers and a temp gauge would be able to control temp somewhat...but no! They are for decoration....very little heat come out the smokestack as it is pouring out the gap in the back.
On the manual it has a number to call for missing parts....I guess this is the quality control ie Just put a note on the manual for missing parts rather than check the box before it ships.
Getting help was not easy you must send in the invoice and the correct serial Number (there are several ) before they will help you (I guess a lot of people must call in for free parts without owning a bbq). Somehow I thought they would fedex the parts out but it took two weeks.
As far as the gap in the lid I sent them many photos and they basically told me "so what" "if it cooks food there is nothing wrong"
I played with it since but can not control the temp. I was use to a weber where you can shut it down a save the coals for next time. I now have a 130lb hunk of junk on my deck...
edit....here is their exact copy paste comment.
"If there is an issue with the food not cooking then there is an issue here. Otherwise this unit is not defective and seems to be operating as it should be. "

Design is easy to assemble and hold heat well. If you plan to cook hot and fast the grill is great but if your looking for low and slow look elsewhere.Problem is with the grates. Doesn't take much charcoal or wood to get the temp up but as the coals burn down they fall through the grates onto the tray. The problem is if you are cooking for long times the temp may be around 350 but your fire will be out. Over time the only heat you will have is from ashes. It is very easy to get to 450 on 3/4 of a chimney starter (temps only go up from there).
Grill great for steaks and burgers but not large cuts of meats (ie briskets and pork shoulder).
Hope this helps.
Honest reviews on Dyna-Glo DGN576SNC-D Dual Zone Premium Charcoal Grill
The hinge screws for the lid were pre-installed but were not tight. The nuts would turn when I attempted to tighten them. In order to fix the problem I had to remove the inner lid liner. I couldn't get to the nuts with a wrench so I used a screw driver to wedge the nut while I tightened the hinge screws. This is not something that the average home owner would want to repeat. The lid does not seal well nor does the other venting systems. With the first rain a lot of water got into the unit and collected in the ash tray creating a slurry of water and ash. I plan to get a cover for it but if you get caught grilling in the rain or it rains before the unit cools off your going to have the same problem.
