First of all, I'd like to start by saying that this grill was nearly $500 cheaper on Amazon than at our local Great Indoors. Plus, shipping was free and arrived in 3 days! Are you kidding me?! It did come on a palette and was quite heavy to move by myself (wife was preggo at the time and I couldn't wait any longer for my buddies to help). I am an experienced backyard warrior and literally ran my old grill into the ground until the burners became brittle and fell apart. I knew that my next grill purchase would be a substantial investment, but I also knew I would use the features. I needed a MANLY grill (cue howling at the moon, grunting)!!
On to the grill review.
great features: it's HUGE, heats evenly, has a rotisserie that actually works quite well, QUALITY construction, easy to clean stainleses grates, and did I mention it's huge. If you are looking for the big daddy of all grills this is it. 6 burners of Weber awesomeness. the wheels roll very easily. I cannot comment highly enough on the effective cooking of this grill. The searing station in the middle is SWEET and works well for steaks. I can't believe how much better my steaks taste when I sear them first.
things i didn't care for / don't need: i really see no use for the side burner in my own grilling life. never used it on our old grill, and probably will never use this one. nbd though as the side burner is standard procedure with grills of this caliber. also, the grill "lights" are silly and gimmicky. i didn't even put them on the handle. that's about it. everything else this grill is very useful, including the propane gauge.
things i don't like: nothing noteworthy here. anyone who comments on the footprint of this grill as a negative feature probably bought the wrong grill. on a small note, i'm not a fan of the way they designed the warming rack. several times i've bumped it with a grill utensil and it fell off onto my food that was cooking. oops. i think it would have been better to design it in such a way that makes it snap into place instead of just resting on the mounts.
other people have noted that this grill has a "disgusting design flaw" something to do with when it gets rained on and the grease catcher gets water in it. i haven't owned the grill that long yet, but it's been sitting out in heavy rain and i don't have a problem. one reviewer in another amazon review for this grill noted that he created a piece of flashing to fix it and keep water out. another contacted tech support and they helped him solve the issue. either way, this is NOT a reason to avoid this grill imo. it's just too dang good at what it does to avoid it for this reason alone. i am SO happy i bought this one.
last idea: buy the pizza stone and make yourself some great pizza!! we have been cooking the best pizza of our lives with this grill using the weber clay stone.
Overall, this grill is the epitomy of manliness. If you buy this grill, your manhood will instantly double in size and you will sprout a lumberjack beard and chest hair the first time you turn it on. Make the all the women near you have taken their birth control or they may just conceive purely as a result of being in your presence when you use this grill. BOOYAH!

If you want a gas grill that does it all, the Summit 670 is it. Be sure you get the 670 version 7370001 (propane, the one I bought) or 7470001 (natural gas), which apparently has addressed earlier design issues noted in some reviews & improved the gas conduction system. We've been using ours for several months & found no rain leakage issues (A Weber cover is used when not in service for longer periods). The construction & materials qualities are first-rate; it's clearly built to last. Performance is superb, especially the rotisserie (very short cord, but you can re-wire it if you are electrically-competent). There's lots of storage space in the lower cabinet. At first I thought the lighted controls to be just a gimmick, but they are really very functional when night grilling. The two handle-mounted LED arrays are also quite useful at night, and their spectral balance is just right: they give a "daylight" illumination appearance to the food. The propane tank level is measured with a weighing system that displays the fill status on an LED display... very useful!
The grill thermometer max is 750 F, and indeed this grill can reach very high temperatures very rapidly. However, the ability to control how the food is grilling is excellent.
The only tiny criticism I'd offer concerns the nice-looking tool hooks that are on the front, 3 on both left & right; slipping a grill cover on invariably causes the tools to drop off. But this is truly a minor point.
If year-round grilling is your passion, you can't go wrong with this model.
Best Deals for Weber Summit S-670 Stainless-Steel 769-Square-Inch Grill
My wife and I had been without a gas grill for about 18 months, since we trashed our old grill after it rotted out from the inside. After looking over grill reviews we decided the Weber Summit S-670 was the best bang for the money. Sure, it's over $2000, but the features and size make it more useful to us than a smaller grill (including the Genesis line), and far more cost-effective than the "professional" grills. The key is the ability to control heat, and the Weber allows you to do that with very fine control. With the sear burner, we've done steaks and chops that have a pleasant outside crust, but are still rare to medium-rare in the middle. We made a boneless leg of lamb using the indirect method, and the grill held 400 degrees steady for the entire time we were cooking. We even tossed in some baked potatoes that came out perfect. Two minor quibbles that prevent me from making this a 5-star review:
1) We received a defective quick-connect fitting (no inner O-ring) for our gas line. Had to wait about 10 days for Weber to ship a replacement which they did for free.
2) The gas, thermocouple and igniter lines for the rotisserie burner are exposed. While they appear to be weatherproof, they make the grill look a little unfinished.
When you buy this grill, spend the money on the cover. We are going to enjoy using this grill for a very, very long time!
Honest reviews on Weber Summit S-670 Stainless-Steel 769-Square-Inch Grill
If you read all of the reviews you will have noted the water leak problem. I figured it was worth the purchase even with the design flaw because the grill has great features for the price. I researched solutions for the leaking and then emailed support to ask them for advice. I was surprised when they offered a cover but recommended not to install flashing because "they don't know how it will effect grilling". They have known about the leakage for more than 3 years. With $2,000 grills you think they might explore some solutions other than a cover. People who spend this much on a grill are likely to be the same people who are willing to grill in the rain.Anyhow, I bought some flashing and some high temp flu tape (highest rated) and flashed the 1" gap between the grill and the cart. Even with this mod, set up was quick and no problems except for the quick connect on the side burner. It just won't snap in for me. No bother, I didn't buy the grill to use the side burner.
No problem with grilling at all. It heats up very quickly and the sear section is incredible. I love the smoke box. It takes a while to get the timing down on the smoker. I have been using the grill for a while now and have no regrets at all. Lights up perfectly, heats well, and easy to clean. The only problem is cleaning the grill with hairy arms. They look like I have a perm. Perhaps time for a longer handle on my brush.

I've had this grill for a month now and I can finally give it the review it deserves. I had a Weber Genesis for 15 years before upgrading to this beast, and it was definitely worth it. This is a great grill, and it is huge. It looks fantastic, and gets very hot very very quickly. Now, I say this is the Cadillac of grills, and I mean it. In no way is it the Ferarri or the rolls Royce of grills. Caddy is the top of the GM line, and the most luxurious they make. the Summit S670 is the top of the Weber line, and by far their nicest offering. Comparing a Cadillac to a Rolls Royce, Jaguar, or even a Mercedes is silly as they are really in a different class. That said, Cadillacs look great, drive nice, have all the bells and whistles, and will get you where you want to go in style. The thing is that if you scratch the surface, you find a lot of typical GM cheap plastic and cut corners, and the same parts found on a cheap Chevy. It is exactly the same with this Weber. There is a lot of beautiful (but thin) stainless steel where you can see it, but a lot of very cheap powder coated steel where you wouldn't normally look. The stainless is very thin compared to a truly top end grill like a Lynx, DCS, Viking, etc. Those grills are also thousands of dollars more expensive than this Weber, and you get what you pay for.
That said, I love this grill. It will cook as well as absolutely any grill out there, the Stainless grates are very thick, and the sheer size of the grill is amazing. You can cook for an army with it!
I also absolutely love the searing burner. I was skeptical at first, but I have used it a lot and I think it is the best searing solution of any grill at any price. I have used high end grills with their dedicated infra red searing burners, and while they do get hotter, they take a lot of grill space and aren't very good for slow or simple grilling, so you lose a lot of grill area when you aren't searing anything (think chicken or flaky fish). This is a great solution. When in use the searing station gets very hot and puts a nice sear on your meats but when it's off, it is just a regular grill. You don't lose any area. It is absolutely brilliant in its simplicity. BTW if you want truly the best searing get a cast iron griddle and out it over the searing station. That works better than any IR burner out there!
I have used some very high end grills, my friend has a DCS, an other has a Viking. These grills are built so much better and use such higher quality materials that they truly aren't in the same league as this weber, but that is really OK because they don't cook your food any better... but really, a low end grill will cook your food just as well too.
It is by far the best mass market grill out there, Weber service is very good, and I expect the grill will last at least 10 years.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
Pros: Distributes Heat Evenly, Large Cooking Space, searing station is fantastic, all the bells and whistles, gets very hot quickly
Cons: lots of cheap metal and plastic, grill lights an afterthought
