Not impressed with this mount, really like the grill but this mount lacked when compared to the itc surfit. Its thin aluminum pipe with plastic fittings. The base does not require drilling a hole but I could see the unit filling up with dirt and being a mess to get out. Its not as flush to deck as a surfit and overpriced for the quality.
