We bought this grill because of the good reviews and the price/features/quality. The grill is made in Canada and manufactured by the same company that owns Weber. We were tired of the Chinese made grills that burn through after a few years. Amazon had this on special with no tax and free shipping, great deal. However, when the grill arrived there was some shipping damage. The box weighs in at 150 LBS and is not palettized and shipped UPS. This is not good for such a large heavy box. The damage was minor and I just received the replacements from Broil King. Their CS was very good. The grill itself is nicely made with great control of the flame level via smoothe operating controls. The heat appears to be very even across the entire cooking surface. All the interior parts in the firebox are SS and the box itself is cast aluminum, nothing to rust out. The SS cooking grates are just awesome, very very heavy. I seasoned the grill per instructions by running it at MED/HIGH for 20 minutes. I went out outside after 15 minutes and the temp gauge was pinned at over 700 DEG. Wow this thing can put out some BTUS! You can easily singe your steaks if you want to. The rotisere along with the seperate rear burner are great. However it requires you light it with a match not the ignitor. The side burner is large enough for a fairly large pot. The instructions are all exploded views and no written instructions. Can be frustating if you are not handy. All the major components like the gas lines and ignitors are already assembled, so this fact makes it easier. All in all great grill for the money.

Very good quality grill for the money. Works great. In addition to grilling, I like using the side burner for frying with my 14 inch wok outside as I have only an electric stove inside. Good customer service too. I emailed them about a piece that was dented in shipping and they shipped the replacement piece without charge.

Heats to 500 degrees, stainless racks, the only con is packaging as when I received it there were some broken parts. I called the company and they sent replacements out immediately. Very satified with my new grill.
Honest reviews on Broil King 987744 Sovereign 90 Liquid Propane Gas Grill with Side
I was in need of a new grill as my old one had (after 9 yrs. of near constant use) finally had had it. I read the reviews on this on & saw that the general consensus was that (1) the grill is fantastic & (2) the shipping was the only negative note...and due to the nature of the damage could lead to some time to really get the unit up & running. Well it looks like Amazon has been reading these reviews & took action.
I took the plunge & ordered it (despite knowing that there might be damage in shipping.) Well Amazon switched to a contracted shipper on this one (in my case it was 'Pilot Freight lines'). The grill arrived in EXELLENT condition...and believe me after opening the rather large carton I took ea. piece out & inspected closely). Everything came through fine. It took me about 1 hr. or so to assemble & fired it up tonight. GREAT grill!!!

I bought the Broil King in he fall of 2010. I bought this grill to replace a 10 year old Weber Propane grill. I had done alot of research and was disapointed in the quality of the grills that were out there. Many had flimsy hoods and hinges. I did not want a Weber again because I thought they were overpriced and the heating element produced uneven heating areas. If we wanted to grill a steak we started up the old charcoal grill, cause it would get hot enough to sear a steak (our weber gas grill would cook it). With the Broil King we have replaced the gas grill & charcoal grill. This baby really gets hot. Sears a steak beautifully. The rotissere makes moist & juicy chicken. The lid of this grill is cast iron & very well constructed. Both my husband & I enjoy griling on the Broil King.
