The BBQ heats up real fast and I have a hard time keep the temperature just right. I always cook with the lid down and still have some flare-ups, I always clean the BBQ after cooking. I purchased a hand held thermometer so I could get the right temperatures I require. I do not trust the one on the BBQ.

My complaint is really about Amazon. I ordered a Broil King Crown 40 based on the good reviews. As I began to assemble my grill I noticed that some of the screwed were already in place and things that I was supposed to assemble myself according to the instruction booklet was already in place(ie. The built in thermometer), some of the protective shrink wrap was half peeled off. Then I checked the rest of the pieces and I found that the side burner panel plastic was cracked, the metal handle bar on the other side panel was bent, the cast iron grill has multiple lines where it was cracked in half. This was obviously a return to Amazon, I am shocked that Amazon would try to pass off a return item with multiple broken parts as a new sale, very disappointed with Amazon .
