Bristles are falling out just like the cheap paint brushes you buy at the big box stores. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy.

This is a very well made brush. With its bristles set in epoxy, there is little chance of one coming loose and ending up on whatever you are brushing. The bristles in this brush are thick and just right for brushing butter or whatever onto baked goods before baking.
From personal experience with natural bristle pastry brushes in the past, a warning: do not use this brush on a very hot surface or you will damage the end of the bristles.

I rated it 3 because my expectations were that the bristles wouldn't melt at high heat (though my expectations may be unrealistic). I use the brush to coat a fry or stir fry pan when cooking veggies. I can coat the pans when the heat gets too hot or else the bristles melt. I do like the brush though and it works better than any other bristles I've tried.
