This little gizmo paid for itself the first time I used it. The last time I used my grill, I couldn't get it to stay lit. Got this gauge, tried it out and learned it was my failure to properly light the grill last time, not my propane tank, that was the problem. If not for this product, I would have turned in a half full tank. You do have to have the grill on to test your propane level and I did have to peel off part of the label on the tank to get it to stick to the metal but other than that fabulous! Don't waste your money on anything more expensive. This is the cheapest you'll find (the cheapest I found anyway), is extremely easy to read and works in 2 minutes or less. Highly recommended.

I found this indicator very difficult to read. There are 3 vertical rows, in which you are supposed to 'read' the leftmost row and see where the color changes, and that is where the level of your fuel is. Obviously you then place this magnet on the lower half of your tank, turn the grill on for 5 minutes, and then look for a color change. Well I have to tell you...the first row was black. The second row (which would then be the 'leftmost' row since the first row showed black) had a teal-green color all the way up the row, and the color change was so subtle I could barely tell where it was. It is definitely not 'at a glance'. The 3rd row was a different shade of blue, and that row was the same color top to bottom. I ended up bringing out a cup of warm water to pour on the side of the tank to determine the fuel level. I should have just done that in the first place and saved the 7 bucks I paid for this piece of junk. Plus, I left it stuck to the side of the tank for a week (my grill stays covered when not in use) and it's curling on the sides and falling off because the magnet is so poor. Jeesh.

Well, it's really to soon to know how this will work out. I can say that the magnet seems to hold the panel firmly against the tank. I've had it in place for about a month, and that's the problem. I have an ultra efficient Weber Q320 grill, and a fresh tank, so it will be some time before the tank is low enough to register on the gauge. That would be my only issue with this unit. I wish it was a little longer, so I would know the status of the tank a little sooner. Although with this grill, I think I'll have plenty of warning. One thing I do like about this gauge, is that you do not need to pour hot water on it to get a reading like several others I've read about. All you need to do is have the tank valve in the open position.

Its kind of hard to read. I with they would fix that. I think its working ok but I really cant tell unless I stick my head under the grill and grt very close to the tank

I use this gauge on my fuel tank and I am really happy with the results. It sticks directly to the tank and I have never run out and I think that I am truly getting the maximum fuel out of the tank now. The simple design is great and I honestly don't think you can get anything better for the price.
