This little gizmo paid for itself the first time I used it. The last time I used my grill, I couldn't get it to stay lit. Got this gauge, tried it out and learned it was my failure to properly light the grill last time, not my propane tank, that was the problem. If not for this product, I would have turned in a half full tank. You do have to have the grill on to test your propane level and I did have to peel off part of the label on the tank to get it to stick to the metal but other than that fabulous! Don't waste your money on anything more expensive. This is the cheapest you'll find (the cheapest I found anyway), is extremely easy to read and works in 2 minutes or less. Highly recommended.

I found this indicator very difficult to read. There are 3 vertical rows, in which you are supposed to 'read' the leftmost row and see where the color changes, and that is where the level of your fuel is. Obviously you then place this magnet on the lower half of your tank, turn the grill on for 5 minutes, and then look for a color change. Well I have to tell you...the first row was black. The second row (which would then be the 'leftmost' row since the first row showed black) had a teal-green color all the way up the row, and the color change was so subtle I could barely tell where it was. It is definitely not 'at a glance'. The 3rd row was a different shade of blue, and that row was the same color top to bottom. I ended up bringing out a cup of warm water to pour on the side of the tank to determine the fuel level. I should have just done that in the first place and saved the 7 bucks I paid for this piece of junk. Plus, I left it stuck to the side of the tank for a week (my grill stays covered when not in use) and it's curling on the sides and falling off because the magnet is so poor. Jeesh.
