We didn't know the dents were there till we cut open the boxes & pulled the pieces out. The damage to the boxes was minimal, which is why we were surprised that the steel was dented inside. The dents don't affect the performance of the grill, so it wasn't worth it to tape up the boxes & have it shipped back.
