I've put this grill through the paces and can now share my thoughts. What you should know: Cooking has been a passion of mine for close to 20 years. Things like even, consistent, and powerful heating are major considerations. I am a die hard user of cast iron kitchen equipment for this reason. If you don't care about things like that, this grill is probably overkill.
Positives:
1. It is compact, mobile, and fits easily on a small porch. Probably the primary selling point.
2. It cooks VERY evenly, meaning that you can use the full grill surface and get reliable results
3. It gets hot, especially for a small gas grill.
4. It lights quickly and heats up quickly
5. The dual zone system is flexible, and effective
6. You can slow cook and smoke on it thanks to the dual zone system.
7. The grill looks very nice. I could care less about this, but my wife appreciates it.
8. Cast iron, cast iron, cast iron. Even heating, wonderful grill marks, inherent nonstick, unmatched durability.
9. It is simplicity to use. It does not have a smoker box. It does not have a side burner. It doesn't have an LCD touch screen or a robotic arm that massages you while you grill. It just works. Extremely well.
Negatives:
1. The grill area is limited. If you want tons of grill space, this is not the grill for you. That said, I have often cooked dinner for four on it, including multiple entrees on the grill at the same time.
2. The lid on the grill has a recess in it that means that you can't put very tall things (such as a sauce pot or a full turkey) on the grill. The largest I have been able to fit is a split bone-in turkey breast.
3. The propane door is slightly annoying. Other reviewers seem to make a fuss about this, but it frankly doesn't bother me that much. I've never felt compelled to put hinges on the door. It would pretty easy if you wanted to though.
Overall:
It isn't perfect, and if you want a lot of cooking space this isn't the grill for you, but it's the best small space grill I've come across for serious cooking. Easy to use, reliable results, compact, and flexible. I can heartily recommend it.

I received this grill with much anticipation having read about its awards. I'm happy to report, it has exceeded my expectations! The design is unique and leaves a lot of room on my patio unlike bulkier grills. Most importantly, however, are the amazing cooking results. Fish comes out with perfectly crisp, not burned, skin and is not dried out at all, just delicious. Meat similarly is easy to grill with a perfectly cooked exterior and a tender interior, making rare to well-done with ease. Also a cool feature is the dual zone cooking; I've used the convection ability to bake sweet potatoes to perfection. Without a doubt, this grill has earned its accolades,it is truly amazing!Best Deals for Element EG02AMG 21-Inch Dual-Zone Gas Grill, Dark Gray
I needed a compact grill and figured this would do the job and mainly because the literature and high price dictated both quality and durability. As soon as I removed it from the Chinese cardboard box and found (3) tiny screws on the floor I started to worry. Well, the screws had fallen out of the front cover retaining brackets because they were stripped out. Of the (8) screws holding the brackets on the front cover, (5) were stripped out and due mainly to using machine screws without nuts in a piece of maybe 1/16" sheet metal. I purchased new hardware to fix the problem and should've just returned the unit but the box was severely damaged just trying to get it out of the box which by the way, was already damaged upon arrival. The assembly of the handles was another issue. You don't have direct access to the screw holes due to factory installed components in the way which made it difficult to tighten the screws. These handles should've been installed at the factory before the other components. Another issue is that you have to remove the front cover each time you turn fuel on/off and I swear you need (4) hands. What a pain in the butt! Why not a hinged door with a simple latch on the opposite side. For a cost of nearly $500.00? This unit with only 24,000 BTU and the engineering, materials, components and quality should be priced at no more than $125.00 at best. I'm guessing (2) years of life MAX! Again, I should've returned it. I could've purchased a nice Weber for this price.Honest reviews on Element EG02AMG 21-Inch Dual-Zone Gas Grill, Dark Gray
i purchased this one year ago. i love how it looks. it doesn't work the way it says, the inner ring has less heat than the outer ring, so once i figured that out, i was able to cook with it. i used it last summer, now started using it for a week. it was stored inside over the winter. i bought the cover and everything. the grill has heated less hot gradually. and now, the ignition has stopped working. i've tried cleaning it to no avail. it seemed to work fine when i first got it, kind of a different set of principles from the Weber i had before, but i thought i could work with it and figure it out. what you are paying for is the visual design, not the functionality of the thing.NOTE: while i was writing the above, the grill was pre-heating--i had lit the burners with a match, carefully replaced the grill top, and covered the unit, heat was on "medium", and came inside to write the review. just after i finished writing (6-7 minutes?) i looked out the window and saw that the grill was in flame--thankfully the lid was on. there was nothing in it except for the burnt-on ash from previous cooking. i had thoroughly cleaned it 2 weeks ago before start of grill season. i ran outside, turned the heat down to low--still flaming. i had to turn off the gas and after a minute or so it stopped. it's so overheated i'm afraid to even touch the plastic handle on the lid. i'll have to wait til tomorrow to look and see if i can figure out what was burning. i did smell plastic. maybe it was the ignition mechanism. who knows. but i spent several hundred dollars on this piece of crap. and all i have is a nicely marinated leg of lamb that i can't grill.
NOTE: i must say that Fuego's customer service has improved. since my grill was still within the one year warranty period, i emailed Fuego and described what happened. finally was told that the grill needs to be sitting on something completely level--which i thought it was, but it was true that i had moved it to a different part of the deck. whatever the reason for the flare-up, i promptly received a new ignition assembly. customer service was very happy to solve the problem--this is a big change from when i first purchased it and couldn't reach anyone.

After a year of using this grill, it started to fall apart. The latches that close the front cover failed; the bottom plate deformed; and now the drip guard has collapsed.Great visual design and concept, but very poor execution and shoddy construction.
Stay away.
