Couldn't tell if this was the same as the $8 product, but I'm happy with it. Since I only needed 5 of the 6 spark outlets, I had to put silicone caulk around the unused socket to prevent sparking across to the next socket. I went ahead and waterproofed the whole unit, since the silicone caulk was already open. I put silicone around the other 5 outlets and the 5 wires and, on the outside, smeared silicone around the rubber button and the screw-on cover. I think that rain is what causes these units to malfunction in the first place.

A bit different than the original part but it works very well and was fairly easy to replace if you are mechanically able and keep track of where the original wire plugs all go. I made sure to do that when I took the old part off.

I could not find a spark generator for my Brinkmann 6 burner until now. This is exactly like the one I had, but the original was a cheap silver plastic for the push button. This one is black and looks just a great.

I was afraid my burners were out, but all I had to do was plug in the 6 wires (super easy), and now I don't need a new grill!

I have a seven electrode spark generator and this one was a six--I looked it up online as well as the salesman at a grill store. This one was supposed to be correct. However, since I don't used the upper back burner it still works for the grill just fine.
