This mitt is okay for the BBQ. It's not very protective if you have anything very hot on the grill. I was using a steel vegetable basket on the grill and when I went to remove it with this mitt it started to burn through the mitt. I'd only use this mitt for turning things like metal kabob skewers.

Pros:-Thick insulation
-Long, covers most of the arm
-Attractive
Cons:
-Doesn't offer a lot of dexterity
-Suede on the palm can burn on hot objects
-Can't hold really hot stuff (like pan under a broiler) for very long
-Only a single mitt for this price
Summary:
Very Good mitt for reaching into the grill, but not so much for picking up the grill grate or other very hot objects (at least not more than quickly moving them).
Best Deals for Weber Style 6457 Barbecue Mitt
Thick, protective BBQ mit for Weber fans like myself. Large enough to fit the largest hands! Just fantastic! I love it!Honest reviews on Weber Style 6457 Barbecue Mitt
The mitt insulation pretty decent for holding a seasoning shaker over your food or for opening the grill. The finger/thumb split is a bit small for larger seasoning containers which can lead to dropped and melted ones. As an example it is marginal for the smaller 14 ounce McCormick Grill Mates jars and you'll likely drop one of the large 29 ounce ones.http://www.amazon.com/McCormick-Montreal-Steak-Seasoning-new-Arrival/dp/B0014D1E1Q/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1378596338&sr=8-3
The glove size is a bit small for someone that wears a men's large glove and tight for someone that needs an extra-large. It isn't unusable but you will notice the lack of room, if you had to wear it for long it would be more of an aggravation.
