Although this is a very nice looking kitchen item, it has not been found usable by us yet. Serrano peppers might be the only pepper that fit these holes, but they are usually too skinny to be "stuffed".

When I first got this item, I purchased some jalapeno's that seemed skinnier in size than most and they were still too big for these holes. The holes are about the size of a quarter. NO wait, I just tried putting a quarter over the holes and a quarter is too big. A NICKEL fits perfectly inside the holes, with no gap around the edge. So, look at the size of a nickel and see if you can think of a pepper that these would be good for.

So far, this just looks pretty, but is not functional. :( The corer that comes with it works nicely for jalapeno's though. If someone out there has used this for another kind of pepper successfully please share!!!

I thought this was a good buy. A corer and a rack for one LOW price. The corer is awsome! So easy to use, and clean afterwards. The roasting rack it's cool because of it's shape, but the holes are on the small size. I went out and got jalapenos and didn't realize until I got home, that the big ones didn't fit well and kept falling over. All in all, it's good for the small peppers, so don't buy any big ones. I also found the holes to be too small to hold anything but the smallest jalapenos. When I received my order, I went to the store and loaded up with some large jalapenos with ideas of stuffing them to the max. I stuffed them but to my surprise they didn't fit. I managed to cook a few but all in all it was a wasted effort, a bad experience and wasted money. The corer worked fine for the large jalapenos. For my second attempt I bought the smallest jalapenos in the market and they fit the stand fine. The corer didn't work as well for the small peppers as it's diameter was simply too large and penetrated the skin of the peppers.

The instructions suggested you look for straight jalapenos but made no mention of looking for small ones.

Had I known this was a problem, I would certainly have never purchased. It's too bad the other person who provided his review posted it after I bought mine. Had I saw his review, I would've looked for something else.

Mine came with a clearly defective weld. Contacted the company and was told I had to send it back. Offered to email a photo since the spot weld was visibly bad and they were just going to throw it away. But they insisted I had to send it back at my expense. So I wasted a few bucks and sent it in...and nothing, not a word, no replacement, no response.

Even if it wasn't a poorly built piece of junk, the design is bad too. Flimsy and unsteady due to fold out legs. I'll never purchase another Charcoal Companion product.

This was purchased as a gift for someone who loves peppers. IF you buy peppers big enough the tray works well. But peppers tend to shrivel up a bit as they cook and they fall through the holes. Good idea, tho.
