I found this grill on amazon. It had everything I wanted as far as features and the price was reasonable with free shipping. So, I told everyone that for my birthday I wanted Amazon gift cards to purchase this item. When it arrived the box was in good shape. I always check this. I opened the box and inventoried the parts. Everything was accounted for.
I took out the assembly instructions and started with step one. All was progressing reasonably well.( the side and burner shelves were bent but not too badly) By the time I got to the step where the fire box is installed I knew I had a problem. No way was this going to fit. So I loosened all the fastners as much as possible and forced the box into place. Then I began retightening the fastners. With the firebox in place the pieces were 3/4 of an inch away from each other. Then I stood the grill up on its legs and the shelves were twisted so much that anything that I put on the side burner would have slid off onto the ground and the back cross support was an inch away from its correct location. Had I been watching this happen to someone else it would have been comical . At this point 3 hours had passed and I realized that I needed to return the item. So I repacked it, another hour, and went on Amazon to get return authorization. This is the first time I have returned and item that I purchased from Amazon and I hope that they credit the return shipping due to the fact that the item was defective to the point of being unusable. I'll update this when I find out if the return shipping is covered because I chose not to get a replacement I don't know how any manufacturer could package and sell something this poorly made. Shame on Fiesta!
.Grille is slightly below what I would expect for the price; several parts were bent when unpacked; I straightened them so I could proceed with assembly. I don't expect grille rack and heating rack to last long.....they are very cheap...but at least I can replace them easily with better quality in a year.
