It's nice to be able to check the temps of meat and smoker, from indoors, but you need to be close. Not getting 100 feet of range out of mine....perhaps if it was in line of sight and outdoors, it would, but with the receiver in my house, not that far. Should come with the high temp wires, not ask you to buy them extra. Overwrap the wires with Alum foil (not tight) to help them last longer.

I had no trust in the built in thermometer that came with my smoker so I needed this device to validate the internal temps of my new smoker. It was exactly what I needed to tell me that the built in thermometer is about 20 degrees off.
