Although the rib rack is perfect for setting ribs up vertically and allowing the smoke and heat to provide an even envelopment of the ribs, you have to make sure that you've got plenty of length on each set of rib you plan to put into the rack. If you have short sets, it might possibly fall through the open center portion of the rib rack. If there was a metal bar running down the middle of the rack and attached at both ends then this would be a terrific item for both huge and small sets of ribs.

The rib rack increased the capacity of my smoker. Really like it for both the ability to cook more rack of ribs on one shelf and for loading other items, chicken, sausage, etc.

Best Deals for Masterbuilt 20100211 Rib Rack

I've used these for over 6 months now, and I'm not convinced these are the best way to smoke ribs. Both baby back and spare ribs have been attempted using this device with mediocre satisfaction. I have the Masterbuilt 30" smoker and full racks have to be cut in half to fit the smoker... but this rack is a little too wide to support them after cut. You will have to use the grate or cooling rack to support them, lest they will fall through just getting them to the smoker.

Yesterday, I again tried to use this rack with spare ribs. They are just too wideeven after cutting them in half and they fold over so you can only get one rack of ribs in this thing if you want any kind of air flow. I also didn't think I'd like 'curly' ribs, so I removed them from this rack and just laid them flat the shelves (racks) in the smoker. Baby back ribs aren't as big (wide) as spare's are, so you can get two full racks, cut in halfof course, on one shelf (rack) in the smoker... but still having the drooping center issue.

If they had a middle row of support tines and were two inches taller (IMHO), I might rate them as 4-*'s or maybe even 5-*'s if spare ribs wouldn't fold over in them.

These are better for wide-body or 'rig smokers', in my opinion. But if you have something that large, you'd have all the room you want and wouldn't need this rack in the first place.

Love this rib rack. SO easy to clean after use-just pop in the dishwasher. Will be purchasing a second one for larger cooking of ribs. Shipping was free and right on time. Couldn't ask for better service! Thank you!

I like this item, I just wish it had a bottem on it. Other then that good item for my smoker.
