I was eagerly waiting to receive this grill, but when i received it and opened the box I was truly disappointed. First there were couple of areas where the steel of the grill was dented including the spot where the lid hinges are located, and it was obvious this was not from shipping. Upon assembly I noticed immediately that the build quality is not that good either. The housing on the side where the ignition button is located is only mounted on the body of the grill using two screws, which seemed too weak to support the weight of the portable gas bottle once attached hence the whole assembly was wobbly. Once the bottle was attached and the included battery was inserted, it took few minutes for the spark to come on and the infrared burner to light up. Once i finally got the grill going I noticed that the heat was not as expected. It was only when I manually pressed and held down the knob on the regulator the burner came to life, but it faded down again once released. I live in New Zealand and it is too expensive to send the grill back, so I will carry on trying to make it work somehow. I strongly advice against buying this product. I have no other experiences with other Solair products, but the type of faults I saw can only tell a story about the manufacturer.

This is the best grill ever...the price is fantastic...the construction is superb (Made in the USA). Don't even begin to buy another gas grill other than an infrared. You will never have more tender or juicier meats cooked in record time. Beef tenderloins are the same quality as Ruth Chris Steakhouse and the pork chops will be the best you have ever put in your mouth. Prompt shipping. Easy setup. There are no other grills other than infrared. And there are no other infrareds other than Solaire. You have NOT tasted grilled food before if you have never sampled from infrared grilled fare. The grill os perfectly constructed, assembled in roughly ten minutes, and ten minutes later I was grilling seasoned ribeyes and soaked corn on the cob. The quality is absolutely perfect. This grill will be here in years, providing memories and meals for a long, long time. I work long hours in the oilfield, so I make the most of my home time. I bought this as a portable, but I use it several times a week in the driveway, or my patio, occasionally my garage when it rains, etc. And when I do leave home, I pop that sucker in the trunk, or the trucks toolbox, and minutes from arrival I am a grill hero. Heats and cooks so fast, that when my crew meets my production goals, I will grill up lunch for them within our half hour lunch breaks. Unbeatable.
