I wanted to go camping again. I wanted a propane tree so I could supply my stove and lantern with propane from a 20 gallon propane tank. I bought the Camp Chef Propane Tree from PWS Enterprises. When I recieved it, it seemed like the box had been previously opened like from a returen.I didn't try to test this item until the day before I left on my trip when I discovered the threads on the propane tree are right handed. Propane pipes are left threaded. I spoke to a propane professional who said he had never seen a right threaded propane connection. I could not find a hose to connect to the propane tree. When I tried to communicate with PWS Enterprises all they said was the return period (7 days) had passed. I appealed to Amazon A-Z protection. They said the return period had expired. I was disappointed with Amazon.com. I have had good experiences for years previously. I believe PWS Enterprises bought these items, probabaly from China, they came with the wrong threads, It was returned once by someone that was aware of the 7 day return policy. PWS Enterprises never made any attempt to solve my problem all they did was claim the return period had expired, backed up by Amazon A-Z gaurantee. So I spent $38.10 for a propane tree that I can not use. If you buy from PWS Enterprises make sure you test the product within 7 days so you can return it if it doesn't work. It is disturbing to think PWS Enterprises make a mistake ordering these wrong threaded products and solved the problem by sticking the unuasable propane trees on unsuspecting customers.

I had been searching for a while for something like this, and somehow managed to completely miss this one. This distribution tree is the only tree I have found that can connect 2 High capacity gas grills. I use one port for my camp chef dual burner, and the other for my gas BBQ, allowing both to be used at once. As a bonus I can connect my coleman lamp to the top of the tree and light it too.

All the rest of the trees only have the 1 lb bottle connections, which there are adapters for, but they cost about $30 apiece (so 2 @ $30, plus the tree for $30+) or you can build your own splitter for about $100. Either way this saves a load of money.

If you do order this, you may need to also purchase an extension hose(s) for your BBQ, and many BBQ's barely have enough room for you to connect the line to the 20# tank underneath it, and it definitely will not fit underneath it with the tree on it. Check your fittings and see what kind of extension you may need as you do not want any of the gas lines to be directly against a heat source. I did not mark this product down for this as it is not a problem with the product, but a design limitation with a lot of barbecues. I would have like to have that of it beforehand so I could have hooked it up immediately when received.

The tree does the job it was meant to perfectly, and if you have the need for two grills, it is much easier to use 1 tank, as generally do not use enough fuel in 1 shot to justify using 2 tanks.

After much searching I ordered the Camp Chef propane tree. I wanted to hookup multiple propane appliances using hoses I already had. The hoses used the larger 20lb tank size connections. This tree was the only one that offered the larger connection instead of the 1-lb bottle size connection. I have a Webber Q, a propane fire pit and a Coleman stove and they work perfectly with this new propane tree. I can cook while camping without worrying about running out of propane halfway through.

I added this to a 20lb propane tank to allow me to run a lantern and use an extension hose to located the grill further away.

Overall manufacturing quality is only 3 stars. Paint is nice but the tree base was out of alignment and required bending to get the set screws to hold properly.

The lantern connects fine but the two extra connectors are a slightly non-standard fitting that would not work with a "standard" connector from a propane wholesaler. They will fit the standard connection but not flow gas. This tree requires the EXACT same connector as the camp chef regulators use or it will not flow gas. My propane wholesaler had to manufacture a custom hose for me to solve the problem.

When I received this product, along with the Camp Chef Pro 90, we were going camping later that day. I am glad I assembled everything and tested it before we left. The Camp Chef Deluxe Propane Tree was leaking at the junction between it and the propane tank. It was a very slight leak, but you could barely hear gas coming through. I took it off and hooked the Pro 90 grill directly to the tank, and there was no leak. After fiddling with it for several minutes, I got some 000 steel wool and lightly cleaned the mating surface of the coupler. There were some light scratch marks and other dirt on it. Once I had the coupler nice and shiny, and put it on and it worked like a champ. There was not protective cover for it, so I took one of my 2 year old daughters socks that has lost its mate, and used it to protect the valve. Upon reaching the camp site, it worked like a champ for the entire weekend.
