Shop around for a realistic price on this very basic grill with a side shelf. I paid $37 for it recently (not a sale price, either). It's worth $40 max for what you get, and not a penny more. The same one without a side shelf goes for $27.
Inexpensive & performs as expected...
Assembly was easy and fast (everything must be assembled, including mounting the lid's handle and name plate). Assembly took about 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. Tools are included (mini screw driver & mini wrench) and all the parts were there and it assembled sturdy without any loose bolts or wobbly areas.
Take note that the warming rack will fold down to the top of the grate when the lid is attached and closed -so if food is on the grate and you want to close the lid without having the warming rack touch or smoosh the food, the warming rack must first be removed. The short height between the grate and warming rack makes flipping food at the back of the grate somewhat of a challenge.
With the lid attached and placed in the open position (like shown in the photo), the lid acts like a smoke chute, catching much of the smoke and rolling it up the lid and *forwards*. The grill with the lid on needs to be placed in an open area well away from a covered patio to prevent the area from becoming dense with smoke. It helps to have the back of the grill facing the patio area so that the smoke can better be thrust away from the patio area. Of course, the lid's smoke "chute" effect is not a factor if the lid is removed so that the grill is exposed to open air on all 4 sides.
The grill grate is *not* height-adjustable -the grate has only 1 position, which is shown in the photo, about 3-4" above 1 layer of charcoal.
The side shelf is handy and it folds down if desired.
It's a $40 grill with the quality and performance that one would expect from such an inexpensive grill. I purchased it to have a lightweight charcoal grill on hand as an alternative to my big gas grill.
