The first time I used this turner it damaged the surface of my grill. I couldn't slide it under the food, it caught and then gouged its way across the surface of the grill. I've never had a turner do that before! I put it aside and used one of my other turners.
I inspected the tool later, and discovered one of the edges was raw -cut without any deburring or finishing. The other edges were better, but still pretty sharp.
I could have returned the turner, as it was defective, but instead I took about a half-hour to deburr and polish the edges. I have the metal-working tools to do that. Most consumers won't.
Now I'm not one of those people who thinks everything made in China is cr*p. I'd not be at all surprised if the vast majority of these turners are properly finished. But I would recommend, if you choose to buy one, that you inspect it carefully before using it.
The raw edges were a disappointment, but otherwise the turner is perfectly functional. I like that I can throw it in the dishwasher. I'll take a plastic handle over a wooden handle any day, just because plastic can stand up to automatic washing.
Oh, and one of the other reviewers said this turner was made from carbon steel with a stainless steel plating. Nope. Not true. It is solid stainless steel. Fact is I've never heard of plating stainless steel on top of regular steel. I'm not sure it can be done.
I'll be keeping this tool, and using it. I expect it'll be around for a long time. So will those gouges it cut in my grill. Darn.

This is a very good turner. I've been nothing but pleased so far. It has not yet shown any signs of stain with a good amount of use, and works perfectly fine. It feels very sturdy with a handle made out of hard plastic, has good weight to it, and is very solid. This is quite long, so I wouldn't recommend it to those looking for a turner for a smaller pan. It works best on larger pans or griddles. MIU seems to make great products from what I've seen so far.Best Deals for MIU France Stainless Steel Hamburger Turner POM Handle, 14-Inches
This is a great turner compared to those phoo-phoo brand-name kitchen gadget jobs. It's heavy and stiffer than many thin sheet spring steel flippers out there but it's not as stiff as the rigid plate ones owing to it's long length. The result is that it bends for a low angle of attack on pick ups while still being stiff enough to scrape with the sharpened edge on the front end. The long length supports food as well as much wider turners that are indeed wide but often too short. The handle on this turner is a hard plastic, possibly nylon. It looks like it would melt easier than silicone but the turner rests on the edge of the pan easily upside down on the crook of the blade. Because of the long length it balances there with the handle well away from the hot pan. It also balances flat on the blade if you want to set it down on a griddle or the countertop.Honest reviews on MIU France Stainless Steel Hamburger Turner POM Handle, 14-Inches
Wow! Now this is a spatula! I will use this baby for Lasagna, Ziti, and even Pizza... as well in the summertime for the Barbeque Grill. I did not think of it before but its probably useful for fish as well. The "blade" is 7 inches long and 3 inches wide and made of heavy gauge stainless steel. This baby looks like it might last a lifetime. Well worth the money. I got one with a polypropelene handle because I don't like putting anything wooden in the dishwasher... but I will probably put this one on the top shelf.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for MIU France Stainless Steel Hamburger Turner POM Handle, 14-Inches
I bought 2 of these turners to make cheesesteaks and after just a few uses, both show significant rust. This leads me to believe these are not made of quality stainless steel. Maybe they are just coated in stainless steel. Either way, this is simply unacceptable for a cooking utensil.UPDATE: I have been using the Mercer Hell's Handle M18300 Large 18/8 Stainless Steel Turners for a few months now and they show some rust but not as bad as the MIU version. I would get the Mercer if you have a choice.
