This heavy duty rack consists of two flat pieces of stainless steel that are hinged on one end so that it opens like the jaws of a pair of scissors. When you lift the strainer basket out of a hot pot (such as when boiling crawfish), this rack lays across the top of the rim of the pot. Then you set the basket on the rack so that the hot liquids can drain cleanly/directly back into the pot. It is sanitary, safer and more stable than using a stir paddle which is what I previously used for this. This rack works perfect in conjunction with the Bayou Classic basket assist lift bar. No spills, burns or messes.
