not happy with new burner, first use had soot on foil used on baked potatoes. tried to keep flame low but still produced a yellow flame near center section of burner. Not at all happy.

I knew I had a Char-Broil with a similar though rusted out burner that measured 22" long. It wasn't really usable anymore so I took a chance and ordered this. I just needed a Philips head to screw on the feet and tubes. The tubes are a crimped metal and bendable, I adjusted these to the curve of the old solid tubes and it slipped right in. It's probably a very good idea to not stop there, but actually finish and slip the little lock keys over the tubes before calling it done. It locks the end of the tube over the nipples on the grill, they can help prevent those nasty propane fires and potential explosions.

I'm just wondering if this will last longer than the original one, about 4 years.

In a similar product (Char-Broil 2784253), one review stated that the Venturi pipe is too big for installation. The pipe has a maximum diameter of .850. I too had this problem (Kenmore grill). My solution was simple. I have a portable drill with a cone shape grinder attachment. With this attachment, I was able to enlarge the two holes in the grill box in a couple of minutes.

Not sure of the diameter of similar products. Too bad the manufacturers arn't sufficiently smart enough to list this dimension. I only rated this item as a 1 because of the missing info not because of its quality or performance.

Fixed a grill so we did not have to buy a new one. Worked great. It would help if it stated the size of interior it would fit. We did have to guess on the size of part to buy.

This fit my ~27" wide CharBroil Quicset grill almost perfectly. I was going to get a new grill, but figured I give this a try. I'm glad I did. My old burner was rusted and falling apart. While it is super easy to install this keep in mind you have to probably clean your grill first. And that's mess. I purchased a citrus degreaser like this one Orange 88 Citrus Degreaser 1 Gallon from HD, put it in a pre-mix sprayer like this one Gilmour Select 'N Spray No Pre-Mix Sprayer 499 Teal/White and used that to pre-clean the whole grill. A little elbow grease after that the grill was ready for this. I just followed the instructions and didn't run into any issues.

My grill works better than before (and possibly even better than when it was new since this looks better quality).
