this might work better for thicker sauces, but for mop sauces (vinegar-, oil-, and butter-based) this thing just doesn't transfer any significant quantity of liquid from the bowl. you'd be better served to pour the sauce on your food and brush it around.
fairly easy to clean, though. i disconnect the head from the handle so liquid doesn't get trapped.

I like the fact that the brush head is removable..it's great to be able to put it in the dishwasher for sanitizing/cleaning. My only complaint is that the brush itself really 'holds' a lot of sauce in the brush...you will need/use a lot more sauce than in other cases.
