My Traeger grill started to pop the GFCI it was plugged into. I did the Traeger debug method (see their website Q&A) and found I needed to replace the Hot Rod. This worked perfectly. I went to Youtube for instructions on how to replace it (I recommend you do the same). One tip I found that was fantastic was to attach a spare wire (with tape for example) to the plug on the end of the old hot rod. As you pull it out, it will thread the spare wire through the path of the old hot rod wiring. When you're ready to put your new hot rod in, you attach the plug of the new hot rod to the spare wire and pull it out backwards and it easily comes through all of the holes in the body of the grill. I was able to replace my hot rod in about 15 minutes. Also, you only want to leave about 3/8 of an inch of the hot rod exposed. I've read the hot rod will last longer that way. I did that and it's worked great so far.
