Oh, a disappointment. I have used this type (many manufacturers) of vertical chicken roasters for years and love the outcome. I don't even NEED to use a beer can. Just clean, trim fat and season chicken in and out and put on stand. However, because the "standard" size of the pan has become 7", therein lies the problem ... unless you use an anemic 2.5 pound chicken, I guess. Any larger chicken and it will definitely overhang beyond the lip of the pan and drip all over your oven. Plus, the majority have a painted-on coating that slowly (or not-so-slowly) starts chipping and peeling off into your drippings. I was delighted to see they now offer a few in stainless steel AND *this* particular company advertises it as being 8" wide, not the std. 7" wide ... I was excited. Well, just rec'd this and guess what: it's the same 'ole 7" wide, not the specs that are stated as being 8" wide. However, at least 50% of their description is true: it is stainless. So, I'll keep it but feel ripped off. This means, like with the others, I'll still have to place THIS pan/receptacle into ANOTHER larger pan to catch the drippings from the wings and legs, thereby still having to wash two pans. Is it REALLY *that* difficult to tell the truth? Could have spent less for the same thing from another company.
