Wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but as it turns out, it will work. It's made of fiber, so it's going to absorb anything that drops on it, including rain. Mine is under a roof, so it's not really a concern for me. Fits nicely under a 4 burner grill with 2 side burners.

I just received this item and was very disappointed to see that it both looks and feels rather flimsy and made of cheap material. There is no doubt that this mat will be one of those "one season and done" items that will have to be replaced next year. I was hoping for something better and next time will look for a better brand.

I don't want to write a long review so I'll just say that this grill mat is probably okay for smaller grills. I bought two of these; one of them is under my Weber Q 200 gas grill. The mat is okay for the Weber Q but for larger grills, I would suggest buying something larger.
