I've always liked Weber Grills. I've had one for years and typically grilled on it multiple times each week.
Just purchased a replacement grill and received it within a few days from Amazon. Putting it together was very easy. Only one major complaint. Installing the lid mounted thermometer was a disaster. The wing nut provided, by Weber, was not the correct size or the threads were different. Either way, only after a few turns, the nut was completely stuck. Attempting to tighten or loosen it only made things worse. I don't believe that lid mounted thermometer is even that accurate to begin with. Weber should either ship the thermometer pre-installed or leave it out completely.

I don't know why anyone cooks with gas. The excuse is always "charcoal takes so long" or "charcoal is so messy". Ridiculous! That tells me you haven't done enough homework to know what you're doing. The Weber One-Touch Gold kettle in combo with a Weber Charcoal Chimney (NOT an off brand), will have the most novice of back yard cooks hooked for life. The problem, I'm convinced, is that too many people start with inferior brand charcoal grills or have never been exposed to the simplicity of a Weber charcoal chimney starterwhich ELIMINATES the expense and smell of lighter fluid. With this grill, and a starter, your charcoal will be ready to cook with in just over 10 mins and started with a few mere sheets of newspaper. The stainless ash catcher allows for one-sweep easy disposal of used charcoal.A few years ago I purchased an expensive gas grill to compliment our cookouts for larger parties. It was a very nice gas grill-but it didn't hold a candle to cooking with charcoal (and wood smoking chips) on a Weber like this one. When I moved to a new house I left that expensive stainless steel gas grill for my tenants to use..lolhave at it!
I purchased this model as a gift for a long-time "Weber purest" father. He loves it. The upgrade from a wood lid handle to a fiberglass reinforced one, was a nice redesign Weber developed a few years back. Even without a cover this enamel paint clad grill will last you 10 years or more. If you've ever own a Weber charcoal grillthis all old hat to you. If not, just follow the light barbecue nirvana awaits you. If anyone you host tells you they can't tell the difference between food cooked on gas or charcoal grill, tell them they should probably make a doctors appointment.
I will say that last year my wife & kids gave me a new cart table-mounted 22" Weber kettle with a propane flame charcoal starter option. I was hesitant to embrace it (as my charcoal chimney was as comfortable as a pair of worn deck shoes) but I've come to love that model as well. The propane start option is a real conversation starter. Gas addicts will blubber for a new excuse. Enjoy!

The quality of construction is relatively high, but the body is of thinner metal than I remember from the one my dad had, and the wheels are cheaply made. The hinged cooking grate is perfect for adding charcoal during a 'low & slow' BBQ. The ash catcher works well.Honest reviews on Weber One-Touch Gold Kettle Grill, 22-Inch
Easy to assemble, cooks great, easy to clean ashes.plenty of space on grill for ample food. The grill has two seperate opening that you can lift up to add coals or wood chips. One draw back the top handle gets real hot, I wish they would have used a more heat resistant element.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Weber One-Touch Gold Kettle Grill, 22-Inch
This a extremely well-made grill. Sturdy, very easy to assemble, with excellent materials and finish. It's just the right size. I've entertained parties of 6 to 15 people, easily, grilling red meat, sausages, chicken and even pizza (with a few tricks, it's actually a great way to get a crunch tasty one).
I'm from Brazil, and for most of my fellow countryman (including myself) there's no way to grill other than charcoal. I've recently moved to the US and I had no previous experience with Weber products, but I have to say I'm extremely impressed with this grill.
I don't have the custom of grilling hamburgers because in my country we barbecue big pieces of red meat, especially alcatra and picanha (special cuts of top sirloin and tenderloin). They are slowly grilled and the results with charcoal are far more superior than gas-grilled ones.
Besides, with a good quality charcoal, pieces of newspaper and a lighter, anyone can get a good fire with this grill. I don't even have to use the starter chimney (sold separately). From the nice handles to the thermometer and the ash dispenser (great feature by the way), everything in this grill is good quality.
And the price is more than reasonable. I truly recommend this product.
