I went all over town trying to find a hinged grate for my smaller model Weber. Every place told me they don't make one this size, ha! The first time I barbecued a beer can chicken is when I realized this was a must have. If I tried to add more coals with the non hinged grate that came with the Weber the chicken would have either either ended up on the ground or I would have needed two people. Thank you once again Amazon. Love you guys !

Hinged part does NOT lay flat.I used a needle nose type of vise grips to bend the looped wire and got it to lay flat.
