As others have said again and again, these grids are a vast improvement over the stainless steel grates that my Weber Genesis (special edition)came with. I NOW feel I am really grilling! Best thing I could have done for my already great grill. Also so far the food doesn't seem to stick like it did with the stainless steel. If you haven't made the switch yet DO IT NOW , you'll be glad you did.

Perfect replacement for original. I was surprised at the improvement it made searing my old grates had gradually lost material from scraping/cleaning and were not as effective as they were when new. I replaced the old ones because we had actually gotten small bits of metal in our food while grilling. Now that I know, I will plan on replacing these every few years.Best Deals for Weber 7524 Porcelain-Enamel Cast-Iron Cooking Grates for Genesis
I have a Charmglow (I know, Boooooooo, hissssss). But it does a great job at heating up, and is great at cooking meat. But the grates were cheap and at the two year mark looked like one big piece of rusted garbage. Or rather two. It not only made grilling unpleasant, it was cosmetically nauseating. Looking at it, I actually started to think of already buying a new grill.Instead, I looked around for replacements and all I could find were either the originals at around $60-$90, which were flimsy and had only lasted two years (actually more like 1 1/2). and even cheaper Walmart style universal grates at around $40 that were so flimsy I could have bent them with my bare hands.
I didn't want the originals because they are round cast iron with a wrap around porcelain that looks more like a plastic wrapped grate. One little crack and moisture gets in. Then the stuff starts peeling off the cast iron (and possibly into your food) and that spells doom for the grate. When I replaced them after two years, they looked like a total disaster. When trying to clean them, four of the bars actually cracked and fell off just from minor tapping to get off the rust. Why would I pay that much for another set?
Then as I started wondering if Weber grates would fit, but online they don't give the exact measurements. So, I looked about and eventually found a place that sold them. Price at the store was about the same as Amazon. I measured them and they were nearly a perfect fit. Brought them home, put them on the grill and was shocked at how much better they were. They also weigh about twice as much as the originals, cost less and are vastly better made.
So, the result was that I had paid the same or less for these grates as I would have the cheaply made originals and I got Weber quality. Go figure.
If you want to do the same, I suggest you measure your existing grates. Then, either call Weber and ask them for the exact measurements or find a place that carries the replacements and go measure them for yourself. For me the 7524 was the right fit and now, I love my grill again. Actually, I love it more!!!

slight gap in the center between the two grates, but still PLENTY of space that it's not an issue.Otherwise great product for a Weber Genesis E310

I have been looking for a set of Proelian-Ennameled Cast-Iron (PCI) cooking grates for my Weber 1710001 Summit S-420 Propane Gas Grill, Stainless Steel. The original S-420 comes with a set of stainless steel rod grates, which look very good when new. However the stainless steel grates are hard to clean and food sticks to the grates. Due to the size of the Summit S-420 I could not find a perfect set of PCI grates.Although this set was not designed for the Summit S-420, It worked well in the end. The Summit's stainless stell grates measure 19-1/8" long and 26-1/2" wide. This set is 19-1/4" long and 26" wide. I was hopeful that it would fit, but it didn't. The new grates are 1/8" too long. After studying the grill for a bit, I found that I could slightly loosen two screws on the back of the grill to let the depth of the grill expand a little bit. After doing that, the new grates fit in properly. It is still half an inch too narrow but that's as perfect as it gets in my search for a pair of PCI grates.
When I fired up the grill and tried the new grates for the first time, I found it was a much better BBQ experience. Food did not stick as much, and the grates were much easier to clean.
I bought the grates from "Warehouse Deals" which is basically the official Amazon.com outlet store. The price was very good. Amazon.com said in the listings for "Warehouse Deals" that the packaging was damaged but the products were fine. The grates came exactly like that only the cardboard box was slightly damaged, but the grates were same as new. I highly recommend this product and the seller "Warehouse Deals".
