I bought these heat plates to replace the ones that came with my Kenmore grill. They are better than the original plates (stainless steel vs porcelain coated) but they are still too light weight. Good price compared to what Sears wanted.

Even though I took very good care of my Kenmore grill, the original heat plates rusted to the point that they HAD to be replaced. Sears wanted $19.99 apiece as well as a little over $18.00 in shipping and taxes. $78 for three small pieces of metal? This vendor was much more reasonable.

Generally speaking, stainless steel will not rust. Not sure why Kenmore did not use these in the first place? My primary concern was that they might not fit my grill as well as the old ones or require some "jamming and cramming" to get them to fit. They are a perfect fit. I am so happy that I checked Amazon first before being taken to the cleaners for something that should not have failed in the first place.

UPDATE (10/23/13): It has been a little over a year since my purchase. The plates are somewhat discolored from extreme heat but are otherwise in perfect shape and condition. No rust, warpage, or wear and tear. What a great purchase!

I purchased these as replacement for the original, enameled steel heat plate in my Kenmore grill; units were exact fit and should be longer lasting than the OEM parts. These were much better priced than the OEM replacements from Sears/Kenmore. I would've preferred these more if they were a slightly heavier gauge stainless but otherwise these are excellent replacements.

We recently purchased 4 of these to go with our Kenmore grill. The original plates did not last (rusted through) and posed a fire hazard (large flames). These replacements fit perfectly, but there was a noticible buckling of one when exposed to heat. The price was decent (of course I would love to have had it cheaper), as the plates when purchased directly from Sears would have cost twice as much. Over-all, we are pleased with our purchase.

The material is thinner than the stock heat plates but hopefully they will last a while. The price was half of what Sears wanted to charge. The shipping was very fast, it arrived 3 days before the expected delivery date. The only reason why I'm only giving 4 stars is because the plates have some scratches on them. No big deal considering they're going to be on top burners.
