This is a good attempt at a replacement part. There are slots in the top of the replacement heat shield that slide onto protruding tabs on the inside of Charbroil grill. These slots however are not quite wide enough to slide over the tabs and will require enlarging the slots slighty and that will result in some of the porcelain chipping off. I guess I'm fortunate that I was able to find the neccessary part at a reasonable price even with the problem described.

These are nicely made in the sense that the material and coating is well produced. But similar to the other reviewer, I found that they do not fit the supports. They are supposed to slide down and slot in place. The slots are not far enough apart to permit this. The overall length and width is correct but the placement and size of the slots is not correct. I will be keeping these and just enlarging the slots, as I need my grill ready to go for a some friends in a couple of days. If I had more time I would return them for a different brand. For reference the grill that I have is a Char Broil Performance Series model number 463452205.

Edit: I cut the slots wider with tin snips in about 2 minutes. Then they fit perfectly. After 2 months they are holding up well.

I definately needed a replacement set of these since my old ones were paper thin and full of holes. I replaced my three burners along with these heat shields and my grill is like new again. These shields are basically just like the original set, but the fit is not exact. The shields rest on the side supports, but do not actually slide into place. Either way, they are a big improvement over my worn out originals and I don't foresee them falling off the side supports so I will be keeping them. Can't complain about the price either.

Slots for installation are slightly off, and forcing the units on does cause the porcelain to crack at the edges.

I have to bend the little prongs to fit in my grill. they do catch the grease and keep the burners clean. but that grease will eventually catch start to burn later. just have to scape the plates every once in a while.
