I love this item, made a bunch of a patties as soon as I received it. Previous reviewers mentioned freezing the hamburgers in the container and being unable to get the patties out. As far as I can tell, this product was never designed to leave the patties inside to be frozen. I think it was meant for refrigeration.

This product is great if you want to make yummy fat perfect hamburger patties quickly with little mess.

I wrapped mine in wax paper and stuck them in a freezer bag to put in the freezer for later. This way, they are individually wrapped so I can take a few out as needed. Another thought I had was the press the patties, cut the them lengthwise, stick in cheese, and then freeze. Not sure how well that will keep though.

Mr. Bar-B-Q 40231x Multi Layer Burger Press works well if

the burgers are pressed and then added to storage.

If pressed all the way to the sides, then frozen,

they expand, making them press against the sides of

the container, and thus difficult to remove while frozen.

I bought this item hoping I could freeze several hamburger patties for the next time we grilled, but the problem is that once they go into the freezer there is no way to get the patties out. You can no longer use the lifter that comes with the set because the patties are stuck to the container. You can run hot water over it for a while and it will loosen it up some, but its still not great. My other complaint is that unless I want to remove all of the hamburger patties out at once, it isnt useful. If I just want to pull out the top 2 for my wife and I, you can't pull those out without thawing the whole container. I never use this anymore.
