I've used this basket once. The metal loop that holds the lid closed slipped off, and I dumped half my dinner into the grill and on the ground.

I'm looking forward to using this several times a week. I can cut food into smaller pieces and toss them into the basket to cook, allowing them to cook faster and saving fuel (and making dinner happen faster!) But first I've got to figure out how to keep the top in place.

I bought this basket to replace a different basket I'd used for years. Thought the lid would be great for easy shaking and welcomed the non-stick. What's non-stick about it? It has to be washed by hand and immediately dried and occasionally covered with mineral oil to prevent sticking. I just sprayed non-stick spray on my old one and put it in the dishwasher after use. This one has a non-detachable rosewood handle that can't go in the dishwasher or obviously over flames. I couldn't shake it making fajitas because the onions, green pepper and meat was slipping through the basket weave and I ended up stirring carefully with tongs. This is going in a garage sale.

EXCELLENT. Cooks up a large amount of veggies at one time and they always come out great!

Finally, we've got something that allows us to grill our veggies without dropping half of them in the fire when turning them. Still lose the occasional onion slice, but it's MUCH easier now.

Thanks Amazon.

Bought this to roast home grown Hatch Green Chilis on my gas grill, so they can be peeled. Most stores here in Florida, are unfamiliar with Hatch green Chilis, and look at you very puzzeled when you ask for them, so I got some seeds from Hatch and grew my own. The roaster works well, when I shake them for turning and allows me to squirt them with the hose to loosen the skins. I took a large set pliars to the loop closer, and squeezed it into a much tighter circumfrence, keeping the top and bottom more securely closed. Placed the flat top on the grill with the basket up, and was able to close the lid on the gas grill.
