I purchased this product as a bit of a gamble, although it indicated it would work on some CharBroil grill models. I was going to install it on a CharBroil brand replacement burner that I purchased from Amazon (Char-Broil 2784253 Universal Fit 17-Inch Bar Burner, Case Cut).
I was able to make a way to install the unit on the burner and it made a good spark. The problem I encountered is that the unit has to be so close to the burner to actually create ignition that the flame from the burner would have destroyed the electrode within minutes.
The OEM assembly was no longer available for my model grill but the shield for the electrode on the OEM unit obviously collected the gas in a pocket that was then ignited by the electrode. I tried for at least an hour to find a mounting location that would ignite the gas yet protect the electrode. I was not successful.
The product most likely works well in the right application, but the replacement CharBroil grill burner I purchased is not it.
Good product for the right application but there are limited mounting options with this assembly.
