Of the 40 seeds I planted, four sprouted. They were tended carefully. I plant hot peppers outside as I am interested in a main crop of peppers for the freezer. I've never had any problem before, but then, I bought brand name seeds until this year. Live and learn.Best Deals for Big Chili II Pepper 35 Seeds - Great on the Grill
Exactly 30 days ago (April 8, 2013) I planted these seeds in a potting soil medium. Only 4 of the 35 seeds have germinated. I've been a serious "hobby" pepper gardener for about 25 years and this variety of pepper seed has become very difficult if not impossible to find. I've not seen this variety of chili seed packaged from a "reputable" seed seller (Burpee, etc) in at least 10 years. These seeds arrived in a small zip-lock bag and appeared to be "home labelled".I seriously doubt that all 4 of these tiny "propeller" sprouts will make it to maturity, and even if they do I'll not have much of a harvest. My latitude is 35 degrees North.
I would not buy this seller's seeds again and I would not recommend them to anyone. BTW, I also purchased this seller's "Big Jim" variety seed. Only 4 of those 30 seeds germinated. Seee the above comments as they apply to the "Big JIM" seeds as well.
I'll have to find some plants if I expect to grow any chilis this 2013 season.
